Scale Your Visuals

Building-Sized Vinyls

In order to give the wow-factor upon arriving at the annual conference 'Competitive Socialising:The Power of Play', the event organiser wanted wall-sized vinyl wraps. These wraps were 24 meters wide by 3 meters tall, and as it formed the backdrop for the queue, every section needed to be hi-res at any distance.

Creating graphics at this scale posed unique challenges, particularly in ensuring that the visuals remained crisp and clear regardless of the viewer’s distance from the wall. The design process required meticulous attention to detail and strategic planning to maintain visual quality and impact.

kEY eLEMENTS

  • Scalability: To ensure that the graphics looked great up close and from a distance, I focused on creating scalable designs. This involved utilising vector graphics, high-resolution images and where necessary, tricks of the trade such as additional 'noise' textures to maintain clarity and detail.
  • Sponsor Logos: A significant aspect of the wall graphics was the inclusion of sponsor logos. To ensure these logos were sharp and clear, I often converted existing company logos to scalable vector graphics (SVGs). This process involved careful tracing and adjustments to stay true to the original designs while enabling scalability.
  • Visual Impact: The overall design needed to be visually striking to capture the attention of attendees and passersby. Bold colors, dynamic layouts, and thoughtful composition were used to create an eye-catching and professional look.

The vinyl wraps effectively transformed the venue’s facade, creating a visually impressive entrance that set the tone for the event. The crisp, clear sponsor logos ensured brand visibility and recognition, pleasing both the event organisers and the sponsors. The scalable designs allowed for a seamless visual experience, maintaining quality and impact at all viewing distances.
